"본 연구는 초등학교 저학년 아동의 독서시간 변화에 따른 잠재집단을 탐색하고, 부모-자녀 간 문해 상호작용의 잠재집단 예측력 및 잠재집단 간 학업성취 차이를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 8-10차년도 자료의 부모-자녀 496쌍을 대상으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 초등학교 저학년 아동의 독서시간 변화 유형은 다섯 집단(‘하위유지집단’, ‘중위유지집단’, ‘상승후감소집단’, ‘급상승집단’, ‘급감소집단’)으로 분류되었다. 둘째, 어머니가 책을 자주 읽어줄수록 ‘하위유지집단’ 보다 ‘중위유지집단’에 속할 확률이 높았다. 셋째, 어머니의 빈번한 문해지도는 ‘하위유지집단’, ‘중위유지집단’ 및 ‘급감소집단’ 보다 ‘급상승집단’에 속할 확률을 높였다. 넷째, 초등학교 3학년의 학업수행능력은 ‘하위유지집단’에서 가장 낮았다. 이를 바탕으로 초등 저학년 아동의 긍정적인 독서시간 변화를 위한 부모-자녀 간 문해 상호작용의 중요성 및 지원 프로그램의 필요성을 제시하였다.

영문 요약문

This study aims to identify latent groups of reading time changes among primary school children, identify predictors related to parent-child literacy interactions, and compare children's academic achievement levels based on reading time changes. The study used the eighth to tenth waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) and 496 dyads. First, the latent groups of reading time changes were classified into five types: “below average group,” “average group,” “high and then low group,” “low and then increasing group,” and “high and then decreasing group.” Second, the more often a mother reads to her child, the more likely the child is to belong to the “average group” than the “below average group.” The more frequently the mother guides her child's literacy skills, the more likely the child is belong to the “low and then increasing group” than the “below average group,” “average group.” and “high and then decreasing group.” Finally, children in the “below average group” showed the lowest academic performance. This study empirically confirmed the influence of parent-child literacy interactions on children’s reading time, and the level of children's academic performance by the types of reading time changes."
