Hosted the 1st Policy Forum on the Need for Reform of the Education-Care Program According to the Integration of ECEC and the Direction for Reform 


KICCE hosted the 1st Policy Forum addressing the need for reform of the Education-Care Program in response to the integration of ECEC and the direction for reform. The event took place on August 17 (Thursday) at B153, Education Building B, Ewha Womans University. The forum was organized by the ECEC Integration Council of the Ministry of Education and co-organized by the Child Happiness Research Advisory Group and KICCE. The forum consisted of a presentation on the project overview by the principal investigator, followed by topic presentations by the joint research team and a subsequent general discussion. KICCE senior researcher Kim Eunyoung introduced the project, focusing on the "Necessity and Direction of Reform Examined Through the Comparison of Current Childcare and Education Programs". Duksung Women's University professor Lee Jeong-wuk presented cases of global curriculums, discussing "International Trends And Cases Related to Early Childhood Curriculums". Dongnam Health University professor Kim Hye-geum addressed "Stakeholder Perceptions Towards the Direction of Curriculum Reform in ECEC Integration", sharing faculty and parent voices through FGIs. During the discussion, Dongshin University professor Lim Soo-jin emphasized the importance of continuity in early childhood experiences and the need for a document system to support curriculum execution. Seokyeong University professor Shin Hye-won stressed early childhood curriculums based on developmental characteristics. The panel also included parent Jeon Soo-yeon, LG Love Nursery School teacher Kim Hyo-jin, and Seoul Myeongil Kindergarten teacher Kim Su-ok, contributing their perspectives as both recipients and providers of education.
