The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) and the Childcare Center Safety & Insurance Association (CSIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on preventing safety accidents in childcare centers and improving the welfare of childcare staff in South Korea. The two institutions held the MOU signing ceremony on October 14, 2024, at the KICCE's main conference room, where they announced a comprehensive plan for cooperation aimed at building a safer childcare environment. Key figures from both organizations attended the event, including KICCE Director Hwang Ock Kyeung and CSIA Chairman Kim Young-oak.

Through this agreement, the two organizations expressed their intent to "strengthen the prevention and response to safety accidents in childcare centers and develop policies to ensure the safety of infants, toddlers, and childcare staff." They emphasized the importance of combining KICCE’s research expertise with CSIA’s extensive practical experience to develop safety policies and systems tailored to real-world conditions. Their joint efforts aim to create an environment that effectively prevents accidents. Furthermore, they plan to continue collaborative research and exchanges to design practical safety measures that can be applied on-site, ultimately reducing the incidence of safety accidents. By working together, they aim to ensure the safety of infants, toddlers, and childcare staff, contributing to the healthy growth of young children, who represent the future of South Korea.
