The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) held its First Half Research Advisory Committee Meeting on Friday, June 20, 2025, in the main conference room. Internal committee members included President Ock Kyeung Hwang and Director of Planning and Coordination Yunjin Lee, Director of the Office of Planning and Coordination. External members in attendance were:

 Young Mi Go, President of the Korean Society for Early Childhood Education

 Jin Wook Kim, President of the Korean Association of Childcare Support

 Hyung Mo Kim, President of the Korean Council for Children's Rights

 Ji-Hee Bae, President of the Korean Society for Early Childhood Education & Care

 Jeongha Hwang, President of the Korean Child and Family Welfare Association

 Seung Ju Kwak, Executive Director of the Korean Society for Early Childhood Teacher Education

 Jin Sook Kim, Vice President of the Korean Society of Child Welfare

 Byung-ho Lee, Editor-in-Chief of the Korean Open Association for Early Childhood Education

During the meeting, President Ock Kyeung Hwang was unanimously elected as the Chair of the 2025 Research Advisory Committee. The committee received a brief introduction to the Institute, followed by a report on the major accomplishments of KICCE in 2024. The discussion also addressed the Institute’s role in supporting the national policy agenda of the newly launched administration (as of June 3), as well as prospects for transforming KICCE into a legal entity.
