From the 29th of October, KICCE (President Sun-Hee Baek), together with the Center for Transnational Migration and Social Inclusion, Seoul National University, co-hosted the “International Conference: Values of Care Work and Social Inclusion“ over the course of two days (1st & 2nd Conference). The main theme of the 1st International Conference (October 29) was ”Values of Care Work and Social Inclusion“, which was also co-hosted by Centre for Collaborative Research on Population and Society, Dongguk University. President Sun-Hee Baek presented the keynote speech on ”Reexamining the Social Value of Care and recommendations for the betterment of society”. Following the keynote speech, Ji-won Jeon (Senior Researcher, Center for Transnational Migration and Social Inclusion, Seoul National University), Prof. Seung-eun Cha (Suwon University), Nam-hee Do (Research Fellow, KICCE), and Young-sook Heo (Director of Korea Migrant Women's Human Rights Center) delivered presentations on the present state of care work in Korea. In the afternoon, sessions 2 and 3, “Promoting the Values of Care Work: Solidarity and Integrity“ and ”Care Work and Social Inclusion“ took place respectively.
