The Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE) co-held the 2nd ECEC Policy Symposium of 2022 “2022 Occupational Safety and Health Week Safety and Health Seminar” with Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI) on July 8, 2022 (Wed) at KINTEX Ilsan. The seminar, under the theme of “Daycare Workers Re-examined As a Vulnerable Group in Occupational Health”, examined the working environment and health of daycare workers and discussed on areas to improve and policy amendments. OSHRI Deputy Head of Department Park Ga-young has presented “Vulnerability of Daycare Workers” and Professor Choi Eun-hee of Eulji University on “Working Environment and Health Care Plan for Daycare Workers – Focused on Senior and Child Daycare Workers”. Lee Jae-hee, Research Fellow of KICCE has presented on “Industrial Accident Status of Child Daycare Workers’”and Park Eun-jung, Assistant Research Fellow has presented on the subject of “Issues Related to Status of Childcare Workers, and Conditions and Working Environment”. Discussion panellists included Lee Sang-hoi, Head of Department at Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), Jeon Ji-won, Senior Researcher of Seoul National University Center for International Migration and Social Inclusion, Ph.D Ahn Hyun-mi of Chung-Ang University and Professor Jeong Hye-seon of The Catholic University of Korea.
