KICCE held a meeting with the visiting group from the Agency of Preschool Education in Uzbekistan on April 26, 2023 (Wednesday) at 3:30 p.m. in its main conference room. The meeting was attended by Sanghee Park, President of KICCE, Mugyeong Moon, Director of the Office of International Research and Data Analysis, Sook In Cho, Head of the International Exchanges and Research Team, and Nodir Muslitdinov, Deputy Minister of Agency of Preschool Education, and adviser Khurshid Buriyev. 


 


KICCE President thanked the Uzbekistan Ministry of Preschool Education for maintaining close cooperation since signing the first business agreement in November 2017 and renewing the agreement in 2021. Park said that she hoped KICCE’s experience and related research would help shape the supervisor training plan of the Agency of Preschool Education through this meeting. Deputy Minister Nodir Muslitdinov announced that the Agency of Preschool Education was established as an affiliated organization of the Uzbekistan Ministry of Preschool Education and the Ministry of Public Education that were integrated in January 2023. He expressed his intention to promote joint projects with the KICCE to educate teachers, establish a national-level common curriculum, monitor the quality of education and childcare for young children, and evaluate performance. Mugyeong Moon, Director of the Office of International Research and Data Analysis stressed the need to expand access to early childhood education/childcare institutions and simultaneously make continuous efforts to improve the quality of early childhood education and childcare. In this vein, Moon highlighted the importance of the Training of Trainers (ToT) to nurture excellent teachers and proposed a monitoring plan to link education at the central level to the local level. The Agency of Preschool Education announced that it would review the country’s early childhood education and childcare system and endeavor to secure a budget so as to implement the roadmap for supervisor training agreed in Uzbekistan in November 2022. Both organizations vowed to continue close consultation and cooperation with each other to implement the contents of the business agreement.
