The KICCE hosted the 2nd Research Forum on Support for Infants and Children at Risk for Disabilities of 2023 on Friday, September 15, 2023. This research forum was conducted as part of this year’s collaborative project, Comprehensive Measure for Early Screening and Support for Children at Risk for Developmental Disabilities in Early Childhood Education and Care (II): Development of Screening Tools for Parents and Family Support Measures, with the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences. It was organized to share cases from the United States, Germany, Australia, and New Zealand under the theme of "Understanding Other Countries’ Support Systems for Families of Infants at Risk of Disability.”

Dr. Kim Ye-jin (University of California-Davis, MIND Institute) covered the topic of “Support for Infants and Children with Disabilities and Development Delays and their Families in the U.S.,” discussing the laws, systems, guidelines, and practices of providing support for infants and children with disabilities and developmental delays in the U.S. Professor Kim Yong-jin (Kangnam University) shared information on public institutions and support services for early support in Germany through the topic of “Support for Infants and Children with Disabilities (or at risk) in Germany based on Comprehensive Early Support.” Dr. Choi Jung-won (senior researcher at Korea National Council on Social Welfare) presented “Family Support for Infants and Children at Risk of Disability in Australia and New Zealand,” introducing Australia’s Early Childhood Approach (ECA) and New Zealand's Incredible Years program.

Professor Kim Soo-yeon (Department of Special (Inclusive) Education, Gyeongin National University of Education), Hwang Ju-hee (Head of Center for Research on Welfare for Persons with Disabilities, Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs), and Kim Eun-young (Director of Office of Fertility Support and Family Policy Research, KICCE) participated as panels during designated discussion.
